  • Q[TB Feron Plus] Why should sterile pipette tips be used for the pretreatment process?
    A

Unlike other ELISA kits (e.g., FMD NSP Ab ELISA, B.Brucella Ab ELISA 2.0, etc.) that detect viral antigens or antibodies, this kit requires a pre-treatment process that incubates whole blood with stimulating antigen.

If contamination occurs during this pretreatment process, the IFN-γ response may occur due to other factors, regardless of antigen stimulation.

If that happens, the results of the ELISA will be unreliable. ELISA does not need to be conducted in aseptic environments, but the pretreatment process requires more attention.
